Gaza – Saba:
The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) strongly condemned on Monday the heinous crime committed by the Israeli enemy army when it targeted a journalists' tent at Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza, leading to the assassination of Al Jazeera correspondents Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Quraiqea, and cameramen Ibrahim Daher and Moamen Aliwa.
In a statement, the PJPC stated that the assassination of journalists Al-Sharif and Quraiqea came after months of public Israeli incitement against them, after they continued to perform their professional duties since the beginning of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, despite the challenges associated with forced displacement, insecurity, and difficult living conditions.
The PJPC called for "an independent and transparent international investigation into the ongoing Israeli crimes targeting journalists in Gaza and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable in accordance with international law."
It called on "the international community to provide immediate and effective protection for Palestinian journalists and strengthen international accountability mechanisms to ensure a reduction in repeated violations and an end to the policy of impunity."
With American and European support, the Zionist enemy army has continued to commit genocide and impose a total siege on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. This has resulted in the deaths of 61,499 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 153,575 others. Thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
