Berlin – SABA:
The German Foreign Ministry stated on Monday that the "deliberate killing of six journalists in Gaza is a deeply alarming and serious incident."
A ministry spokesperson strongly condemned the targeting of journalists in Gaza and stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive and transparent investigation, calling for accountability and punishment for those responsible to ensure the protection of media personnel, according to official statements.
Earlier on Monday, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the number of journalist martyrs has risen to 238 since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, following the Israeli enemy forces' targeting of six journalists on Sunday night/Monday morning.
The office vehemently condemned Israel’s systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists, urging the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the Arab Journalists Union, and all press organizations worldwide to denounce these systematic crimes against Palestinian media workers in Gaza.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy military has continued its genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 61,499 Palestinian civilians—mostly women and children—and 153,213 injuries, according to non-final tolls, as thousands remain trapped under rubble or in streets, unreachable by rescue teams.
