The United Nations, through its Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), issued an urgent appeal on Sunday evening to halt the "unacceptable catastrophe" unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on platform X (formerly Twitter), monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the UN stressed the critical need to:
- Allow humanitarian organizations to deliver life-saving services to civilians in desperate conditions.
- Ensure unimpeded aid access, including food, medicine, and fuel, to prevent further starvation and collapse of essential services.
- Release all detainees as part of de-escalation efforts.
