Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting was held on Sunday at the Yemeni Public Corporation for Radio and Television, chaired by Information Minister Hashem Sharafuddin, and attended by the corporation’s Director-General Abdulhafez Muajab, directors of government TV channels, Sana’a Radio, and the head of the local radio sector.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing preparations and plans for welcoming and commemorating the anniversary of the Prophet’s noble birthday (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in a manner befitting the grandeur of the occasion. The aim is to deliver a high-quality media message both domestically and internationally, strengthening the connection with the Greatest Messenger (peace be upon him and his family) and reflecting the emulation of his noble example.
The meeting reviewed aspects related to coordinating work among various national TV and radio channels, both public and private, to carry out joint media efforts that meet the public’s needs and aspirations for this occasion.
During the meeting, the Information Minister emphasized the importance of satellite channels and local radio stations fulfilling their role in preparing for the occasion and covering the events of the Prophet’s Birthday (1447 AH). This occasion carries profound significance in demonstrating the Yemeni people’s adherence to the Noble Prophet, following his path, and emulating him in both practical and spiritual life.
He noted that the media’s attention to this grand religious occasion reflects the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, the guidance of the President of the Supreme Political Council, and the program of the Government of Change and Construction—all of which call for drawing closer to Allah and His Messenger, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds.
Minister Sharafuddin stressed the need for integrated media efforts to cover the activities and events related to the occasion, leading up to the central ceremonies. He called for unified broadcasting of interactive radio and TV programs engaging the public to express their joy on this great religious occasion.
He also affirmed the necessity of executing joint Yemeni-Palestinian media projects that reaffirm the steadfastness of both peoples in confronting Israeli-American aggression. These efforts should include high-quality media productions that allow the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza to join Yemenis in celebrating this great occasion, embodying their shared adherence to the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), and emulating his struggle and patience.
He added, "There should be a unified radio and TV presentation reflecting national unity in celebrating the occasion, while also engaging with independent Arab media that may interact with Yemeni media coordination in this regard."
The meeting was enriched with interventions from officials of visual and audio media regarding aspects related to programs dedicated to celebrating this grand religious occasion and covering the events of the Prophet’s Birthday. Attendees also discussed topics essential to developing media work in line with the exceptional phase the nation is undergoing.
