Sana’a - Saba:
The Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council received on Sunday a request from Al-Rasheed Smart University for technical support to ensure the quality of seven academic programs: Medical Laboratory Sciences, Information Technology, Graphics and Multimedia, International Business Administration (English), International Business Administration (Arabic), Accounting (English), and Accounting (Arabic).
During the submission, Dr. Ahmed Al-Huboub, Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, and Dr. Abdul Latif Haidar, President of the University, signed an agreement formalizing the request, duly endorsed by the university’s authorized representative. The request seeks the Council’s assistance in providing technical support to ensure the quality of the listed programs and prepare them for national program-level accreditation.
Under the agreement, the university will commence self-assessment of these programs in accordance with the Program Accreditation Standards Guide and templates issued by the Council. The university is required to implement the self-assessment study within the specified timeframe, while the Council will provide technical and advisory support, assisting in the preparation of the self-study report and supporting documents to ensure quality and readiness for national accreditation.
Dr. Al-Huboub commended the university’s progress in fulfilling its commitments and meeting accreditation requirements, describing this step as the beginning of on-site visits by Council committees to provide technical support, review files, assess readiness for program-level accreditation, and conduct relevant training workshops.
He emphasized that achieving quality requires resources, a clear reference framework, sound management, and a vision aligned with accreditation and quality standards, noting that the university is well-positioned to earn this national recognition given its capabilities.
For his part, Dr. Haidar praised the Council’s leadership and achievements in modernizing and developing academic programs, as well as providing technical and advisory support for self-assessment processes in various Yemeni universities. He affirmed that the university is now applying for technical support to accredit seven academic programs whose students have completed four years of study, highlighting the university’s establishment on quality principles and its steady progress in developing academic programs in line with accreditation standards, alongside providing modern facilities, medical laboratories, and technological resources in step with global developments.
