Seoul - Saba:
S Korean and U.S. Marine Corps forces conducted joint exercises on Wednesday, including amphibious landing drills, in an effort to enhance their combined operational capabilities.
Approximately 2,500 troops participated in the training program, including around 1,500 U.S. Marines stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, the joint drills will continue until mid-August in the southeastern coastal city of Pohang and other areas.
The two allies aim to strengthen their joint operational readiness through a series of exercises, including battalion-level amphibious landing drills.
As part of the training, forces carried out a decisive action phase in Pohang, utilizing military equipment such as amphibious assault vehicles and helicopters.
