Rabat - Saba:
Since Friday evening, Moroccan authorities have continued to extinguish a fire that broke out in the Tamrout Forest in Chefchaouen Province, northern Morocco. The fire, according to preliminary estimates, has destroyed approximately five hectares of green space. This comes amid an intense heat wave affecting several regions of the Kingdom.
According to Moroccan media reports, firefighting teams are using four specialized aircraft to combat forest fires, in addition to field interventions by Civil Protection personnel. Sources confirmed that the fire did not result in any casualties.
The Meteorological Directorate warned on Thursday of temperatures reaching approximately 46 degrees Celsius in several regions, with the heat wave expected to continue for several days.
