China on Monday called on Ukraine to "immediately correct its mistakes and eliminate the negative consequences," following Kiev's implementation of European Union sanctions against Chinese companies.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiaqun said, commenting on the Ukrainian sanctions affecting individuals and entities registered in China, that "Beijing calls on Kiev to immediately correct its mistakes and eliminate the negative consequences."
Guo added at a press briefing, "China calls on Ukraine to immediately correct its mistakes and eliminate the negative consequences."
He added, stressing that "China will resolutely protect the legitimate rights of Chinese companies."
On Sunday, Ukraine implemented 18 sets of European Union sanctions, which are restrictions imposed on individuals and legal entities registered in Russia, China, Iran, and other countries.
