Sana’a – Saba:
The Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum organized on Wednesday a commemorative event marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zaid (peace be upon him).
The event, attended by the Committee’s Chairman, Judge Mohammed al-Salami, the Secretary-General, and other members, featured speeches highlighting the importance of commemorating Imam Zaid's legacy to draw lessons from his path, revolution, and courage in confronting tyranny and injustice.
Speakers emphasized the need to follow Imam Zaid's example in his ethics, movement for God’s cause, and revolutionary stance, stressing the relevance of his teachings in correcting misconceptions and mobilizing the nation to confront arrogance and domination under any circumstances.
The speeches also reflected on the scholarly and militant life of Imam Zaid, his virtues, bravery, knowledge, piety, and enduring legacy that continues to inspire generations. They called for adherence to the values and principles for which he sacrificed his life.
The speakers denounced the ongoing conspiracies against the Muslim nation since the dawn of Islam, highlighting the genocide and systematic starvation inflicted on the Palestinian people in Gaza for over 21 months by the Zionist enemy with U.S. and European support.
They called for intensified efforts to continue mobilization, training, and support for the armed forces in the sacred battle of the “promised liberation and holy jihad,” in defense of the Palestinian cause and the oppressed in Gaza.
The event concluded with a call to uphold responsibility toward the nation's issues and sanctities, strengthen the spirit of jihad, awareness, and insight to confront enemies, and move seriously in the footsteps of Imam Zaid and the guiding leaders.
