Gaza – Saba:
The director of Al-Dameer Foundation for Human Rights in Gaza, Alaa Al-Skaifi, revealed on Tuesday that the director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, is currently detained by the Israeli enemy forces in Ashkelon Prison and is suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
The Shehab Agency quoted Al-Skaifi as saying that the Israeli occupation authorities will prevent Dr. Al-Hams from meeting his lawyer until July 31, 2025, and his detention has been extended until the same date.
A special force of Israeli soldiers arrested Dr. Al-Hams on Monday while he was heading to the field hospital run by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported that the enemy forces opened fire on the ambulance transporting Al-Hams, resulting in the martyrdom of journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin and injuring the driver.
Al-Hams is a prominent medical figure in Gaza, having previously served as director of Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah. He currently oversees the field hospitals under the Gaza Health Ministry.
