Marib - Saba:
An expanded workshop was held on Thursday in Sarwah District, Marib Province, for the executive offices and the Agricultural Cooperative Association in the district, as part of preparations to implement the agricultural crops value chains plan for the year 1447 AH.

The workshop, attended by representatives of relevant official and community entities, aimed to enhance mutual understanding among various partners, clarify roles , responsibilities, and transition from theoretical planning to the practical implementation of the value chains plan. This contributes to supporting local agriculture, reducing import costs, and achieving comprehensive and sustainable agricultural development in the district.

During the workshop, Marib Governorate Deputy Daris Al-Muawadi emphasized that agricultural value chains are an effective tool in supporting local produce and ensuring rewarding returns for farmers by improving productivity, enhancing the quality of agricultural products, and strengthening coordination among stakeholders in production and marketing chains.

He called on relevant executive offices and entities at the province and district levels to cooperate with value chain officers and facilitate their tasks.

For his part, Sarwah District Director Marei Al-Amiri highlighted the importance of value chains as a comprehensive developmental approach that addresses all challenges facing farmers. He noted the readiness of local authorities to work as one team to ensure the successful implementation of the agricultural crops value chains plan.

The workshop included a presentation on the key components of the agricultural value chains plan, delivered by value chain officers Yahya Al-Ghoul and Afif Al-Sharjabi. They outlined the plan’s features for 1447 AH, including horizontal and vertical expansion in cultivating economic crops, livestock, and poultry, as well as economically empowering small farmers and facilitating their access to agricultural inputs and marketing services through easy-term "white loans."
