The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated on Thursday that famine in the Gaza Strip has reached dangerous levels, calling on Arab and Islamic countries to take urgent action to break the siege and allow humanitarian aid in.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas said: "The fascist Zionist enemy government has employed starvation and the deprivation of basic life necessities in Gaza as one of its ongoing tools of genocide for over 21 months, reflecting a deliberate escalation in committing the most heinous crimes of the modern era against innocent children and civilians."
The movement added: "The international community’s silence, including the UN Security Council, in the face of this humanitarian catastrophe and the horrific crimes committed daily by the Zionist enemy army—documented in audio and video—sets a dangerous precedent, entrenching a logic of lawlessness and violation of international and humanitarian law."
Hamas urged Arab and Islamic nations, along with the United Nations, to take immediate action and pressure for the lifting of the blockade, the entry of food supplies and humanitarian aid, and an end to this vicious cycle of killing, genocide, and starvation in the Gaza Strip.
