Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the great achievement his people made in the 12-day war was the result of national determination, willpower, and self-confidence, because simply having the spirit and preparedness to confront a power like America and its mad dog, the Zionist regime, is crucial.
During his meeting with the head of the judiciary and senior officials across Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the unity of the Iranian people, despite all political and religious differences, in defending Iran, emphasizing that preserving this unity is everyone's duty.
Khamenei said, "Friends and enemies should know that the Iranian people will not appear weak in any field or arena," according to the official Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
He added, "We have all the necessary tools, such as logic and military power, so when we enter, whether in the field of diplomacy or the military, we will enter with full hands, with God's help."
Khamenei continued, "Although we consider the Zionist entity a malignant tumor, and America a criminal for supporting it, we did not welcome war. However, whenever the enemy attacked us, our response was crushing and powerful."
He added, "If the Zionist entity had not knelt, if it had not fallen to the ground, if it had been able to defend itself, it would not have turned to America in this way. But it realized that it could not stand up to the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Sayyed Khamenei described Iran's counter-attack to the American attack as an extremely sensitive blow.
He explained, "The center that Iran attacked was a very sensitive American center in the region. When media censorship is lifted, the extent of the blow Iran dealt to this base will become clear. Of course, a greater blow could be dealt to America and others."
Khamenei pointed out that the emergence of the national spirit and cause in the recent war was extremely important and constituted an obstacle to the realization of the enemy's plan.
He said, "The aggressors' plans and calculations were to weaken the regime by attacking certain sensitive figures and centers in Iran. They thought they could eliminate it by inciting the people, bringing them out into the streets, and by bringing the dormant central forces of their mercenaries, from hypocrites and monarchists to thugs (the riffraff and scoundrels), into the field."
Khamenei continued, "In practice, the exact opposite of the enemy's plan occurred, and it became clear that many of the calculations of some individuals in political and similar fields were incorrect."
