Gaza - Saba:
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) warned of the worsening health disaster in the Gaza Strip, after an increasing number of hospitals and medical centers stopped providing services due to the depletion of fuel needed to operate generators, putting the lives of thousands of patients and wounded at imminent risk of death.
The movement said in a press statement today, Wednesday, received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): What is happening in the hospitals of the Gaza Strip is not just a humanitarian crisis, but a systematic mass murder, carried out by the Israeli enemy authorities as part of the ongoing genocide that has been ongoing for more than 20 months. This has not only destroyed infrastructure and health facilities, but has also extended to turning fuel into a tool for the slow killing of civilians.
The Front held the Israeli enemy fully and directly responsible for deliberately threatening the lives of thousands of sick and wounded, including children, premature infants, cancer patients, and kidney failure patients, who were left without life support or treatment.
This is a flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions, most notably the Geneva Conventions, which criminalize the targeting of civilians and their healthcare facilities.
The Front condemned the alarming international silence and the blatant incompetence of UN institutions, which merely express "concern" at a time when the Palestinian people are subjected to the most heinous forms of genocide, starvation, and medical siege.
The Front called on the United Nations and its relevant agencies, particularly the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities and immediately pressure the enemy to allow the entry of fuel and medical supplies into Gaza hospitals without any delay or conditions.
The Front also called on the Palestinian people in the homeland and diaspora, and all national and societal forces, to undertake the broadest popular, media, and political action to expose this crime, break the siege, and support the resilience of the health sector, which is on the brink of collapse.
The Front affirmed that the continuation of the Israeli war on the Palestinian people, in all its military, economic, and medical forms, will not break our will, but will rather increase our determination to continue the national struggle until the enemy is swept away and our full rights to freedom, return, and independence are restored.
