Amran - Saba:
Amran province witnessed on Sunday a mass march and events commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them) under the slogan "Hiyah minna al-thillah" (Never to Humiliation).
Participants in the march, held in the province center and led by Governor Dr. Faisal Ja'man, General Mobilization Official Sajjad Hamza, Deputy Governor Hassan Al-Ashqas, and District Director Abdulrahman Al-Ammad, emphasized that commemorating Ashura is a mobilizing and spiritual occasion to draw lessons from the bravery of Imam Hussein (AS) and to reaffirm continued support for the Palestinian people and the oppressed.
They pointed out that the Muslim Ummah's deviation from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his household (PBUT) has led to its current state of weakness and vulnerability, stressing that the ongoing events in Gaza are an extension of the empowerment of Jews and Christians to dominate the Ummah.
They explained that the Yemeni people, while marking this occasion amid their own suffering, are reinterpreting Karbala through the lens of Palestine, seeing in Hussein’s blood the spark of resistance, in his sword the path to dignity, and in his patience the foundation for building an unbreakable nation.
The participants affirmed that Yemen remains steadfast in the values and principles championed by Imam Hussein’s revolution in supporting truth, following his path in defending the Ummah’s causes, and sacrificing in the face of American-Zionist aggression and its regional tools.
Cultural events and seminars were also held across the governorate’s districts, attended by local directors, executive leaders, and social figures.
Speeches at the events highlighted that commemorating this painful milestone in Islamic history stems from faith-based belonging and expresses unwavering loyalty to the Prophet (PBUH) and his household (PBUT).
They addressed the genocide and displacement conspiracy faced by the people of Gaza, noting that the Zionist enemy and its global backers have failed in the face of Palestinian resilience and heroic resistance.
They emphasized that this year’s Ashura commemoration takes place amid the tragedy befalling Palestinians in Gaza, which bears stark similarities to the calamity of Karbala endured by Imam Hussein (AS).
