Ramallah - Saba:
Two Palestinian committees revealed today, Sunday, that the Israeli occupation army has destroyed more than 1,000 homes in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nour Shams refugee camps since the beginning of Israeli military operations there.
On January 21, the Israeli occupation army launched a military operation in the northern West Bank, beginning in the city of Jenin and its camp and later expanding to the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps. The operation is still ongoing.
The media committee in Jenin camp said in a statement that the occupation army completely demolished more than 600 homes in the camp, while the remaining homes were partially damaged and rendered uninhabitable.
The committee stated that "the Israeli aggression against the city and its camp continues for the 159th consecutive day, amid bulldozing and burning of homes, and the conversion of a number of them into military barracks."
It noted that "the number of martyrs since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the city and its camp has reached 42, in addition to dozens of injuries and detainees."
The committee confirmed that "the Israeli aggression has caused the forced displacement of approximately 22,000 citizens, who were forced to leave their homes."
For its part, the Tulkarm Media Committee explained that enemy bulldozers completely destroyed 400 homes, while 2,573 homes were partially damaged in the Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps.
The committee explained in a statement that "the enemy army announced its intention to demolish 106 buildings in the two camps, including more than 250 housing units."
It noted that "the enemy continues its aggression on Tulkarm for the 152nd day and on Nour Shams camp for the 140th consecutive day, resulting in the deaths of 13 martyrs, including a child and two women, one of whom is pregnant, in addition to dozens of injuries and arrests."
It stated that "five thousand families (more than 25,000 citizens) were forcibly displaced from the two camps and are living in dire humanitarian conditions."
The media committee confirmed that the Israeli army "closed the entrances to the two camps, preventing entry into them, and turning them into almost lifeless areas."
In parallel with the aggression on Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 986 citizens, the injury of approximately seven thousand others, and the arrest of more than 17,500.
