The Hague – SABA:
U.S. President Donald Trump stated during a closed meeting at the NATO summit in The Hague on Wednesday that the situation in Ukraine has “completely gotten out of control.”
According to Bloomberg, Trump said the situation “requires effective action,” though he did not specify what steps should be taken. However, Bloomberg sources interpreted his remarks as a signal of Washington’s readiness to become more involved in the Ukrainian issue.
The NATO summit, held in The Hague from June 24–25, is expected to produce significant outcomes concerning the Ukraine conflict. The summit takes place amid grumbling from some member states, including the United States, Hungary, and Slovakia, over the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, some analysts have suggested that any potential meeting between Trump and Zelensky would likely be symbolic, without yielding any substantial progress.
