Tehran - Saba:
The Atomic Energy Agency of Iran (AEOI) sent a letter to Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), demanding an investigation into the illegal US attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported that following the US and Zionist terrorist attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear sites, the AEOI sent a letter this morning to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The letter expressed its objection to the US terrorist attacks (as a permanent member of the Security Council) on the Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan nuclear power plants.
In its letter, the agency officially reported the US attacks and emphasized the need for the IAEA to fulfill its duties as stipulated in the UN resolution. It also emphasized its objection to the US's flagrant violation of international laws, especially the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which explicitly prohibits attacks on, or even threats to, any country's peaceful nuclear facilities.
The AEOI also called on the IAEA Director General to fulfill his duties within the legal framework and explicitly condemn these illegal attacks and take appropriate measures. The letter also indicated that Iran will take all necessary measures to defend its sovereign rights, in addition to pursuing the necessary legal action in relevant international institutions regarding the failure of IAEA Director General Grossi to perform his duties and his clear complicity in this crime.
The Iranian nuclear agency also called on the free and peaceful nations of the world to fulfill their duty to uphold international law, especially the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
