Tehran - Saba:
Former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed ElBaradei, confirmed that an aggressive war was waged against Iran in violation of the UN Charter and all provisions of international law, as was the case in the Iraq War and is currently occurring in Gaza.
ElBaradei wrote in a post on the social media platform "X": "An aggressive war against Iran, in violation of the UN Charter and all provisions of international law, and in the absence of any evidence from international inspection bodies of the existence of a military nuclear program, is being waged by two countries possessing thousands of nuclear weapons," according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency on Sunday.
He added: "A war that brings to mind the disastrous war on Iraq, which was based on deception and in violation of all reports from international inspection bodies stating that there were no weapons of mass destruction... a war that will have devastating consequences for the region and its people, and which—as was the case in the Iraq War and is currently occurring in Gaza—the countries of the region are watching as they stand by."
