The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the government has conducted intensive regional and international contacts and intensified its diplomatic efforts with the international community to intervene and compel the Zionist enemy to halt its aggression against Iran, noting that the continuation of the war threatens the security of the entire region.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted Hisham Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Planning, as saying: "Iraq has, for years, been interested in reducing tension in the region and enhancing regional stability, and we were concerned about the negative repercussions and effects that followed the events of October 7."
