Tehran – SABA:
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Lorestan Province, western Iran, announced on Saturday the foiling of a bombing attempt in the city of Khorramabad.
According to the IRGC’s public relations office in the province, an explosive device was discovered in Khorramabad, and a suspect linked to the Zionist Mossad intelligence agency was arrested, as reported by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
The statement noted that the suspect had made a threatening phone call to security agencies the previous evening, declaring his intention to carry out violent bombings in the city.
It added: “Immediately, through joint coordination between the Lorestan Provincial Police Command and the IRGC Intelligence Unit, the suspect’s location was identified and he was swiftly arrested.”
Searches conducted at the suspect’s residence resulted in the seizure of a prepared explosive device and a hunting rifle. The bomb was successfully defused without causing any damage.
