Sana'a - Saba:

The Capital Sana'a on Saturday initiated a joint field campaign aimed at removing informal vendor stalls, makeshift structures unsightly structures, and causes of traffic congestion from the capital streets.

The month-long effort is part of a broader traffic procedures matrix designed to improve urban appearance, cleanliness, and traffic flow.

During the launch, Capital Mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad emphasized the campaign's importance in clearing violations that hinder traffic and detract from the capital's aesthetic.

Ubad praised the collaborative engagement of the Traffic Police, Public Works Office, and Cleanliness Project, along with directors from various directorates and relevant offices.

He stressed the need for concerted efforts to ensure the campaign's success and enhance community awareness regarding urban preservation.

The campaign, which commenced in front of al-Thawra Hospital and al-Shaab School in Bab al-Yemen area, extending along Khawlan Street, targets main thoroughfares in its first phase.

Traffic Police Director Major General Dr. Bakil al-Barashi explained that the initiative aims to remove dilapidated vehicles, open closed roads, and clear haphazard appearances.

Al-Barashi urged citizens to cooperate with the campaign teams, while Director of the Public Works Office, Engineer Abduldalam al-Jaradi noted that the campaign involves 154 cadres, seven dump trucks, and four vehicles, and will relocate street vendors' stalls to designated areas, protecting their livelihoods.
