Washington - SABA:
German club Bayern Munich and French side Paris Saint-Germain achieved crushing victories over Auckland City and Atlético Madrid respectively in their opening matches of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup currently being held in the United States.
Bayern Munich demolished New Zealand's Auckland City 10-0 at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio in their Group C opener. The German champions broke the competition's record for largest victory margin, surpassing Al-Hilal's 6-1 win over Al-Jazira in 2021.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain swept aside Spain's Atlético Madrid 4-0 at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles in another Group C match. The French side displayed their attacking prowess with goals from multiple players.
These commanding performances see both European giants take early leads in their group standings as they begin their quest for the global club championship. The tournament continues with Bayern set to face Benfica and PSG taking on other group opponents in the coming days.
