Jenin - Saba:
About a week ago, Israeli enemy forces converted the homes of dozens of Palestinian citizens in towns and villages in the Jenin Governorate into military barracks following repeated raids on the towns of Anin, Rummana, and Nazlat Sheikh Zeid. This resulted in the forced displacement of residents, restrictions on movement, and disruption of daily life.
Village Council head Muhammad Issa told the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) on Monday that Israeli forces raided two homes belonging to the Yassin family in the town of Anin, west of Jenin, last Friday, forcing five families, comprising approximately 50 individuals, to leave and turning them into military posts.
Issa explained that Israeli forces continue to raid the town daily, deploying military vehicles through the streets, setting up checkpoints, obstructing the movement of vehicles and civilians, and interrogating them.
He added, "The enemy stormed the town and turned the homes into barracks, which led to tension and a sense of insecurity among the residents and impacted commercial activity in the village."
In the town of Rummana, west of Jenin, Israeli forces have converted 11 homes into military posts over the past four days, according to Mayor Hassan Subaihat.
Subaihat explained that the affected families were forced to move to the homes of relatives, and it is unknown when they will return to their homes.
He said, "For four days, enemy infantry units have been deployed in the town's streets, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters, closing shops, and continuing to provoke and harass residents."
He confirmed that the seized homes are all located in the western part of the town, a high area overlooking the entire town.
For his part, the head of the Nazlat Sheikh Zaid village council, Aziz Zaid, said that enemy forces turned the homes of Fadl Saeed Zaid and Omar Hassan Al-Bari into military posts after expelling their residents.
Zaid stated that enemy soldiers continue to raid and search homes and assault citizens. He noted that enemy soldiers assaulted a high school student yesterday, blindfolding him and detaining him for two hours after taking him to an unknown location before releasing him.
They also assaulted another citizen as he was walking through one of the village streets.
He added that enemy forces closed the western entrance to the village and its main street, in addition to a pharmacy and grocery store located in the same area.
