Axios: Israel insists on Trump to get involved in war with Iran

Washington - Saba:

The American news website Axios revealed: Today, Sunday, citing informed Israeli sources, the Israeli government requested the administration of former US President Donald Trump to participate militarily in plans to attack Iran's nuclear program, specifically the heavily fortified Fordow facility located inside a mountain.

The report indicated that the most significant obstacles facing the occupying entity in carrying out decisive strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities lie in its lack of bunker-busting bombs and heavy, long-range aircraft capable of reaching deeply fortified targets like Fordow. In contrast, the United States possesses these military capabilities, making its participation essential to the success of any such attack.

Despite Israeli insistence, the Trump administration has expressed reservations about direct involvement, believing that a single strike against an Iranian target would inevitably lead to a full-scale confrontation, something Washington seeks to avoid.

The report quoted Israeli military officials as saying that the continued presence of the Fordow facility after the end of operations would be a "disastrous failure" in achieving the strategic goal of completely destroying Iran's nuclear program.

In the same context, the website reported that the current US administration is not currently considering direct military intervention, suggesting it will likely seek to negotiate a peaceful settlement if Tehran expresses its willingness to do so.

At dawn on Friday, with tacit US support, the Israeli enemy launched a large-scale attack on Iran with dozens of fighter jets, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion." The attack targeted nuclear facilities and missile bases in various areas, and assassinated prominent military commanders and nuclear scientists.

The Israeli army said the attack was "preemptive" and came under directives from the political echelon, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a war criminal, declared that the "unprecedented" operation aimed to "strike Iran's nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile factories, and numerous other military capabilities."

On the evening of the same day, Iran began responding to the attack with a series of ballistic missile and drone strikes, launched in eight waves, resulting in deaths and injuries, as well as significant material damage to buildings and vehicles.
