London – Saba:
The British Office for National Statistics announced on Thursday that the country's exports to the United States fell to an unprecedented low in April, following the implementation of some US tariffs.
Liz McEwen, director of economic statistics at the office, said that Britain experienced "the largest monthly decline ever in goods exports to the United States following the recent imposition of tariffs," according to Reuters.
The Office for National Statistics indicated that the decline in exports affected most types of goods, but specifically mentioned cars and non-ferrous metals.
Last April saw the implementation of 10% reciprocal tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on the United Kingdom and other countries, in addition to a 25% tax on cars.
