Tripoli – Saba:
Maghreb Steadfastness convoy, carrying aid from Tunisia and Algeria towards Gaza, has reached the Egyptian border, facing official caution and an unclear fate despite widespread popular support.
Comprising hundreds of volunteers and over 160 vehicles, the convoy aims to break the Gaza siege. While social media in Egypt shows significant public welcome, there's no clear official announcement from the Egyptian government regarding its passage to Rafah. Reports indicate caution from Egyptian authorities, with concerns about security and coordination.
Algerian lawyer Fatiha Rouibi revealed that three Algerian lawyers and approximately 37 other participants were detained at Cairo International Airport.
The convoy's organizers emphasize creating a "human bridge" for aid and pressing the world to support Palestinian rights.
However, the convoy has also sparked debate, with some Egyptian parliamentarians and media warning of potential "uncalculated" repercussions.
