German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow more emergency aid into the Gaza Strip.

German government spokesman Stefan Cornelius said on Monday that Merz said it is imperative that Israel immediately allow sufficient humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Merez has recently hardened his rhetoric toward the Israeli government, questioning its military strategy in light of the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip.
