Marseille Dockworkers refuse to load military shipment bound for Israel

Marseille - SABA:

Dockworkers at France's Marseille-Fos port refused on Wednesday to load a container of military equipment destined for Israel, according to a union statement reported by French media and Al Jazeera.

The CGT union confirmed the shipment contained parts for machine guns used by the Israeli military.

Workers declared the port "must not serve as supply line for Israeli army" operations.

Union emphasized members "won't participate in Gaza genocide" through their labor.

"We support peace between peoples and reject all forms of war... French infrastructure must stop fueling conflicts."

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military - with U.S./European support - has killed 54,607 Palestinians (mostly women/children) and wounded 125,341 in Gaza, with thousands more trapped under rubble according to non-final casualty figures.
