Occupied al-Quds – Saba:
An Israeli organization revealed on Monday that last May set a record since the beginning of 2025 in terms of the number of buildings demolished by Israeli enemy forces in East al-Quds
The left-wing Israeli organization Ir Amim stated that, according to data it collected, "May recorded the highest number of demolitions in 2025 so far, with a total of 33 buildings demolished, including 16 residential units and 17 non-residential buildings."
It stated, "This brings the total number of demolitions in East alQuds since the beginning of the year to 93, including 53 residential units and 40 non-residential buildings."
According to data from the organization specializing in al-Quds affairs, 23 buildings were demolished in January, 15 in February, 14 in March, 8 in April, and 33 in May of this year.
Palestinian, Israeli, and international human rights organizations confirm that the Israeli occupation authorities issue a small number of building permits to Palestinians in East al-Quds annually, compared to a surge in building permits granted to Zionist settlements built on East al-Quds lands.
The Israeli occupation authorities are accelerating their efforts to impose their control over the occupied West Bank through a policy of demolition, displacement, and settlement expansion, which UN resolutions unanimously declare illegal in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to the left-wing Israeli movement Peace Now, which opposes settlement activity, there are 156 settlements and 224 settlement outposts in the West Bank, including East al-Quds, home to 736,000 Zionists.
