Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that the Border Guard Forces of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) will achieve rewarding results in all areas of their work and will repel any threat.
In a speech marking the Professional Day of the Border Guard, Putin said, according to Sputnik News Agency, "The border guards have demonstrated heroic efforts in accomplishing important tasks during the Russian special military operation in Ukraine."
President Putin added, "I am confident that our border guards will continue to achieve outstanding results in all areas of their work, repelling any threat, stopping attempts to violate the state border, repelling attacks by saboteurs and terrorists, and identifying and eliminating channels for drug trafficking, illegal migration, and smuggling."
Putin noted that the Russian people "will always remember the heroic efforts of the fighters of the Soviet border posts, who were the first to enter the battlefield in June 1941, at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War."
He emphasized that the Russian border guards continue to work "steadfastly and courageously," inspired by the heroism of the past, and are determined to defend Russia's interests, "its security and territorial integrity, and to fight for truth and justice, and for peace in our homeland."
The Russian President also noted that the Border Guard Service contributes to the development of Effective cross-border cooperation and integration relations with Russia's partners.
