Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, announced that Russia has requested a UN Security Council meeting to discuss the practices of European countries attempting to prevent a settlement in Ukraine.
The Russian news agency Novosti quoted Polyansky as saying on Tuesday: "Moscow expects this session to be held on May 30."
He added that Russia intends to raise the issue of the threat to peace and security posed by European countries attempting to obstruct a settlement in Ukraine during the session.
