The number of victims in a stabbing attack at the central train station in Hamburg, northern Germany, rose to 12 on Friday, with three in critical condition.
German broadcaster NDR reported, citing a fire department spokesperson, that three people suffered life-threatening injuries, three others sustained serious wounds, and six were slightly injured.
Earlier, the newspaper Bild stated that eight people were injured in the incident and a woman had been arrested. Meanwhile, Hamburg police confirmed that a large-scale operation was underway at the station but provided no further details.
The circumstances and motives behind the attack remain unclear.
