Washington - Saba:
An organization of US Army Reserve soldiers announced a 40-day fast for Gaza, followed by escalating measures demanding the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip and the cessation of US arms supplies to the Israeli occupation.
The organization's call received a large response, and shortly afterward, it announced that it would not accept new participants at its main event in New York.
The statement addressed to the reserve soldiers read: "You are invited to the 40-day fast for Gaza, organized by Veterans for Peace. On May 22, we will begin our fast across the country."
They demanded the provision of humanitarian aid, under UN supervision, to Gaza and that the United States immediately cease arming Israel.
