Sana’a – SABA:
Team 22 May defeated Al-Hilal of Al-Hodeidah with a score of 79–46 in the opening match of the final stage of the Men’s Second Division Basketball League (Group A – Sana’a cluster), held today at Al-Ahli Club’s indoor court in Sana’a.
The first quarter saw intense competition and a close performance between the two teams, with 22 May narrowly winning it 16–15. However, 22 May dominated the remaining three quarters with comfortable margins: 17–8, 20–12, and 26–11 respectively.
With this victory, 22 May earned their first two points and took the lead in the group, which also includes Shaab Ibb. Al-Hilal received one point for their participation.
On Thursday, Shaab Ibb will face Al-Hilal in the next group match, and the group stage will conclude on Saturday with a match between 22 May and Shaab Ibb.
Meanwhile, the Group B matches of the Second Division Basketball League will kick off Thursday evening in Seiyun, Hadhramaut Governorate. This group includes three clubs: Tali’a Lahj, Tadamun Hadhramaut, and Wahdat Tareem. They will play in a single round-robin format to determine the group winner, who will advance directly to the First Division.
The opening match in this group will feature Tali’a Lahj versus Tadamun Hadhramaut on Thursday, followed by Wahdat Tareem vs. Tali’a Lahj on Friday, and concluding on Saturday with Tadamun Hadhramaut against Wahdat Tareem.
