New York - Saba:
The United Nations on Wednesday called for "an end to the fighting in Gaza" and the unhindered delivery of aid to the Strip.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in press statements on Wednesday: "We demand an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza to pave the way for an irreversible path towards a two-state solution."
Guterres added: "Humanitarian access to Gaza must be guaranteed without hindrance."
In previous statements, official spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric said that the United Nations is in continuous contact with Israel through diplomatic channels, urging it to lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of humanitarian aid, as every human being has the right to live in dignity.
Dujarric called for an immediate ceasefire in the Strip that would enable the United Nations to resume the entry of the most urgent humanitarian aid and food into the Strip.
He added, "We view the situation in Gaza with alarm."
Israeli enemy forces continue to commit new massacres in the Gaza Strip, on the 583rd day of the ongoing aggression, resulting in the deaths of 71 civilians, the majority of whom were children and women, in intensive raids targeting homes, shelters, and health facilities.
