Beirut - Saba:
Ali Baraka, head of the National Relations Department of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) abroad, confirmed that the movement is prepared to release all Israeli prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, as part of a "one-package agreement."
Baraka explained, in a post published on the X platform today, Tuesday, that the proposed agreement includes: "a sustainable ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Strip, the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, facilitating reconstruction, and the formation of an independent administration of national competencies."
Baraka stressed that "Hamas wants to stop the war of extermination, and Netanyahu insists on continuing it," referring to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Baraka's statements came in response to accusations leveled by the US envoy to the United Nations against Hamas, in which he claimed that it was obstructing the efforts of mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement and release prisoners.
The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released Israeli-American soldier Idan Alexander, who holds dual citizenship, on Monday afternoon, following contacts with the US administration.
The movement said in a statement that the soldier's release came "within the framework of the efforts made by mediators to achieve a ceasefire, open the crossings, and allow the entry of aid and relief to our people in the Gaza Strip."
The statement added that "this step comes after important contacts in which Hamas demonstrated positivity and high flexibility."
