UN Committee: Food shortages expose civilians to famine
[Sat, 10 May 2025 11:58:27 +0300]

Geneva - Saba:
The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination said that the food shortage in the Gaza Strip, coupled with the widespread destruction and severe damage to water and electricity infrastructure, "exposes the civilian population, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, to the risk of starvation, disease, and imminent death."

This came in a statement issued by the Committee at the conclusion of its 115th session, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 22 to May 9.
