The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, on Sunday inspected the progress of work at the Isnad Psychiatric Hospital.
Minister Shaiban, accompanied by the Director of the Health Office in the Capital Secretariat, Dr. Mutahhar Al-Marouni, and representatives of the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund, and the Family Guidance Development Foundation, reviewed the level of medical performance in several specialized medical departments at the hospital, including the laboratory, pharmacy, inpatient wards, and other departments.
They listened to an explanation from the hospital director, Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Mutawakkil, about the hospital's needs for medicines and medical supplies, the training of its staff, the medical and therapeutic services and accompanying activities provided to patients, and the challenges facing workflow, especially with the increasing number of cases resulting from the repercussions of the aggression and blockade on Yemen.
During the visit, the Minister of Health and Environment praised the medical services, psychological care, and therapeutic care provided to patients, as well as the follow-up of cases by qualified medical personnel in psychiatry.
He considered the Isnad Psychiatric Hospital a model for providing medical services and patient care, and its experience should be replicated in other centers and facilities that provide psychiatric services in various governorates.
He stressed the need for concerted efforts by all parties to meet the hospital's needs for medicines and medical supplies, improving the services and care provided to patients.
Dr. Shaiban highlighted the Ministry's keenness and interest in providing medications for the treatment of patients with psychiatric conditions in specialized psychiatric centers, including Isnad Hospital, and its efforts to provide medications to patients even after their discharge from the hospital.
He explained that the visit was intended to inform international organizations of the situation and suffering of patients with psychiatric conditions and their needs for medicines and medical supplies, especially in light of the increasing number of cases resulting from the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.
He was accompanied during the visit by Murtada Al-Murtada, Director of Technical Cooperation and International Relations at the Ministry of Health and Environment, and Dr. Muammar Al-Fahd, Technical Director of Isnad Hospital for Psychiatry.
