Sana'a - Saba:
The Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund and the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea signed on Monday a financing agreement for the construction of the outer wall of Al Khoba fish port in Al-Hodeida province, as part of joint efforts to develop the infrastructure of the fisheries sector and enhance its productive capabilities.
This project comes within the framework of joint efforts to develop the infrastructure of the fisheries sector and enhance its productive capabilities, as Al-Khoba port is one of the most important fish ports in Hodeida, on which more than 7,000 fishermen depend, and the annual fish landing rate is estimated at 8,000 tons.
The project aims to rebuild the outer wall of the port, which suffered serious damage and fell in large parts. The wall contributes to organizing fishing activities, improving the level of services provided to fishermen, raising the efficiency of performance inside the port, protecting the tools and property of fishermen, organizing entry and exit operations, enhancing statistical control operations, and limiting fish smuggling.
The agreement, signed by the Executive Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund, Engineer Abdulwahab Al-Ashwal, and the Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, Engineer Abdulmalik Sabra, emphasized the keenness to implement the project within a time period not exceeding six months, under the direct supervision of the Authority.
