U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders affirmed that the ongoing situation in Gaza constitutes ethnic cleansing and a war crime, in light of the continued Zionist aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023.
According to the Safa News Agency, Sanders stated in a press release on Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to force two million people out of Gaza, calling it “voluntary migration.”
Sanders emphasized that such a plan cannot be considered voluntary when it involves bombing and starvation. He reiterated that what is occurring in Gaza is ethnic cleansing and a war crime, declaring his opposition to any additional military aid to Netanyahu.
The senator had previously attempted to block proposed arms sales by the Trump administration, including bombs and munitions worth $8.8 billion, as part of an effort to reduce U.S. military support for Israel. However, his efforts were unsuccessful.
