Beirut – SABA:
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed that the Zionist enemy’s violations of UN Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024 pose a threat to stability in southern Lebanon.
Aoun’s remarks came during a meeting on Tuesday with Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias at the presidential palace in eastern Beirut.
According to a statement from the Lebanese presidency, Aoun pointed out that the continued Zionist aggressions on Lebanese territory, the failure to withdraw from the Five Hills area, and the refusal to return Lebanese detainees constitute clear violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
President Aoun also briefed the Greek minister on the situation in the south and the role played by the Lebanese army deployed in villages and towns recently vacated by the Zionist forces.
