China launched eight new satellites into space on Monday, aboard a Ceres-1 carrier rocket.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the rocket lifted off at 4:07 p.m. (Beijing time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, sending six Yunyao-1 satellites—numbered 55 to 60—into predetermined orbits.
The mission also included the launch of the Ersat 06 and Ersat 07 satellites.
