The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has held Israel responsible for the consequences of the "horrific massacre" committed in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of nine people.
In a press statement on Saturday evening, the movement described the attack as a "war crime" that reflects the extent of Israeli brutality and disregard for humanitarian values.
It added that this "heinous crime" is part of a systematic escalation revealing Israel's true intentions to continue its aggression, disregarding all agreements reached. The movement stressed that this bloodshed demands a decisive response from those who remain silent.
The movement further stated: "We hold the occupation fully responsible for the consequences of this dangerous escalation and affirm that the resistance, which has sacrificed greatly in defense of its people, will not stand idly by in the face of such massacres."
Nine Palestinians, including journalists, were killed on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a group of charity workers in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza.
