Member of the Supreme Political Council Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor and Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Thursday inaugurated the 2025 health response plan of the Yemeni Drug Bank.
Dr. Bin Habtoor commended the private sector's initiative, recognizing the Drug Bank's vital charitable work and its efforts to alleviate patient suffering during a challenging period.
He emphasized the Supreme Political Council's appreciation for the bank's past and future contributions.
Prime Minister al-Rahawi acknowledged the Drug Bank's partnership with the state and its community initiatives.
He stressed the importance of disease prevention and urged collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Drug Bank.
He highlighted the plan's significance amid economic hardship and the rising need for medication. Al-Rahwi also voiced support for protests against foreign occupation in certain governorates.
Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban pledged the ministry's support for the Drug Bank's projects, aiming to expand services to more patients nationwide.
Hassan al-Kabous and Dr. Mohamed al-Ansi, from the Drug Bank, presented the bank's achievements from 2019 to 2024, including: benefiting over 6.4 million people, conducting over 130,000 internal medical camps, performing over 16,000 surgical camps and implementing over 6.2 million educational activities.
They outlined the 2025 plan, which aims to benefit over 900,000 people through various programs, including medicine distribution, medical and surgical camps, capacity building, and health education campaigns.
They pledged continued support for the Drug Bank's efforts to serve the Yemeni population.
