According to the Palestinian Information Center, Hamas issued a statement urging the mediators of the Gaza ceasefire agreement to take responsibility for Israel’s repeated violations. The movement emphasized that the “treacherous” drone strike carried out by Israeli forces east of Rafah was a “serious violation” of the ceasefire agreement.
Three police officers were killed on Sunday morning in an Israeli airstrike while securing aid distribution in Al-Shawka, east of Rafah in southern Gaza.
Hamas stated: “This crime is yet another example of the occupation’s refusal to abide by the terms of the agreement. The latest violation includes today’s announcement by the enemy that it will not allow the entry of caravans and heavy machinery, despite previously committing to this and informing mediators at the end of last week.”
The movement further accused Israel of stalling the second phase of negotiations, demonstrating its lack of commitment to the mediator-brokered agreement witnessed by the international community.
Since the ceasefire began in Gaza on January 19, Israeli forces have committed over 270 violations, including airstrikes and gunfire, resulting in more than 100 martyrs and hundreds of injuries.
