Gaza Municipality: We have started opening main streets in preparation for return of displaced Palestinians

Gaza - Saba:

The Gaza City Municipality revealed, on Thursday evening, that more than 70% of the roads were completely or partially damaged by the "Zionist" bombing.. indicating that the main streets in the city have been opened in preparation for the return of displaced Palestinians.

The municipality spokesman, Hosni Mahna, said: "We have a plan to recover and address the effects of the aggression and we need everyone's support and we have started the process of opening the main streets in the city in preparation for the return of the displaced."

He explained that the list of needs has reached international organizations and institutions and we hope that the intervention will be urgent.
The return of the displaced is scheduled to begin next Saturday, "the seventh day of the ceasefire agreement" which entered into force last Sunday at 8:30 am on the same day.

Regarding the mechanism for returning to the northern Gaza Strip, Hamas published on its official website, to our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, important points regarding the ceasefire agreement, most notably: "It is scheduled on the seventh day of the agreement (January 25, 2025), after the end of the prisoner exchange process that day, and the occupation completes its withdrawal from the Rashid Street "Al-Bahr" axis.

It added: "Internally displaced pedestrians will be allowed to return north without carrying weapons and without inspection via Rashid Street, with freedom of movement between the southern and northern Gaza Strip, and vehicles (of all types) will be allowed to return north of the Netzarim axis after inspecting the vehicles.

It added: "As for the twenty-second day of the agreement, internally displaced pedestrians will be allowed to return north from Salah al-Din Street without inspection."

It is noteworthy that the ceasefire in Gaza entered into actual effect last Sunday morning, at 8:30, after 471 days of genocide and massive destruction of homes and infrastructure, amid anticipation and overwhelming joy from the people of the Strip.
