President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Friday sent a congratulatory cable to President Joseph Aoun on the occasion of his election as President of the Lebanese Republic.

Al-Mashat said "It is with great pleasure that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency on gaining the trust of the brotherly Lebanese people and taking the constitutional oath as President of the Lebanese Republic."

"On behalf of the Yemeni people, I once again offer our congratulations and wish you success and guidance in fulfilling your presidential duties. May your leadership bring stability, prosperity, and progress to your brotherly country."
