The Secretary General of the Local Council of Ibb Province, Amin Ali Al-Warafi, launched on Wednesday '' I will start my year well'' to help cancer patients.
The campaign, which is implemented by the National Cancer Foundation in Ibb, aims to meet the emergency and urgent needs of Al-Amal Cancer Treatment Center and Al-Hayat Breast Cancer Early Detection Center, both of which are affiliated with the Foundation in the province.
At the inauguration, the Secretary General of the local province pointed out the importance of taking the hands of cancer patients, helping them get a chance for treatment, and providing the necessary medicines to save their lives. He pointed out that supporting cancer patients is a religious, humanitarian and national responsibility that requires a real partnership from all segments of society.
At the launch event, which was attended by the province's deputies Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakel, Jibran Basha, Abdulrahman Al-Zakri, Assistant Commander of the Ibb Axis Brigadier General Jalal Al-Ayani, and members of the province's local council Abdulalim Al-Hakami, and the Cancer Foundation Board of Trustees Mohammed Al-Azi Mansour. The executive director of the Cancer Foundation branch in the province, Baligh Al-Tawil, explained that the aim of the campaign is to inform the community about the suffering of cancer patients and mobilize all official , community efforts to support them and help them conquer this dangerous disease.
He pointed out that the campaign represents a revenue station to help the Foundation pay its financial obligations incurred during the previous period, and meet its necessary needs to enable it to continue providing its free services to patients.
Al-Tawil indicated that the cancer cases registered with the Foundation during the past year 2024 AD reached seven thousand and one hundred cases, including 811 new cases. He explained that the total number of services provided to patients during the past year amounted to 79,580 services in the field of medicines, examinations and radiology, in addition to the services of administration, restraint, examination and medical examination.
