The Yemeni Scientific Society of Digestive System held its founding meeting in the capital Sana'a on Thursday, electing its administrative body by acclamation.
Dr. Abdulhafidh al-Selwi was chosen as chairman, with Dr. Khaled Measar as Vice Chairman and Dr. Mansour al-Amrani as Secretary-General.
Dr. Abdulhakim al-Mutawakil will head the monitoring and inspection committee. The meeting, attended by members of the General Assembly and a Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor representative, approved the association's bylaws.
Chairman of the Medical Council Dr. Mujahid Measar congratulated the new society, emphasizing its role in organizing physicians' efforts, alleviating patient suffering, and advancing the medical profession through research and scientific events.
The Society's leadership affirmed its goals to foster scientific research, promote medical practice, raise community awareness about digestive health, and collaborate with relevant national and international bodies.
